Fishing this summer has been much better than average in terms of consistent production of bigger than average trout. Taking the number of charters and dividing it into number of 27+ inch fish yields a product of .81. That means we've had an 81% chance of catching at least one trout 27 inches or longer per day. That's pretty dang good! Most of our fish have been caught on either Spook Juniors or soft plastics rigged on sixteenth ounce heads. Some are biting around rocks, others on the edges of sandy potholes. Water quality is currently pretty good, much better overall than it was last winter and spring. All of it bodes well for the upcoming "trophy season". On that note, I'll start taking bookings for 2014 on September 1st. Still have plenty of quality dates left between now and the end of this year too. |
